Hwaseong lets you experience a historic city through its fortress landscape. The walls and gates provide a sense of scale, while the surrounding streets make it easy to combine history with a meal or café stop. You do not have to complete a full circuit: selecting one section often makes for a more satisfying visit. Haenggung Palace is a natural addition when you want more royal-history context.
